The White Ring 2012 – The Race |

In 2012 there will be a few changes to the White ring.
|
|
Since more than 50 years, the lifts and slopes of Lech, along with Zürs, Zug and Oberlech have been connected. The White Ring – the largest and longest ski race in the world will take centre stage on the 13th of January. Around 1000 participants will be covering the 22 kilometre long distance, with around 5500 altitude metres to be accomplished. The course record (44 minutes and 35 seconds) is still hold by Patrick Ortlieb, olympic winner and world champion from Oberlech.
Several changes
A number of changes have been made in regard to the White ring 2012. In the coming year the “event of the year” in Lech will be staged for a whole week. For the first time guests can book an exclusive professional training session from Tuesday till Friday. With none other than Olympic medal winner and World champion Patrick Ortlieb as well as 5 time World cup winner and 4 times World champion Marc Giradelli who will help to optimally prepare small groups of participants for the big event.
Tickets for the training sessions and for the race can be comfortably booked in connection with your stay at the Hotel Schmelzhof.
The order of events on the day of the race has also been changed, with the Après ski party being celebrated directly after the crowning of the winners at 2 pm. The medal winners and lucky finishers can then party on into the night at the White-Winners-night that evening.
If you, as a Schmelzhof guest are interested in taking part in the race or in a professional training session don´t hesitate to get in contact with us as soon as possible as places are limited.

 - Grandmother's rum balls may all be of different sizes, but they are super delicious. Sit back and have a taste – don't you agree?
 - You won't believe it, she's back again! Marina and the team are looking forward to a great winter season.
 - Gitti is already happily occupied with the winter deco!
 - We have been sticking lots of great, funny memories into the Ski Club album 2010/2011. We're proud of them! Viva Pronto!
 - Robert: It was an awful lot of work, but Sabine made it fun.
 - The Autumn shows its beautiful side once more (little Indian Summer from the Omeshorn).
 - Grandmother and Josef-Antons' potato harvest was successful this year!
 - There's nothing getting in the way of a delicious potato soup this winter!
 - Duzi's last beautiful summer bouqet. She has provided us with so many pretty bouquets. Now nature is getting quieter, and everything is poised for winter.
 - On a Sunday morning in October, Winter made a little visit. The snow canons are already in the starting blocks. Grandmother has had to trample a little path in the snow. Doesn't this winter landscape look magnificent? We are very happy that Jack Frost has awakened again.
 - Woohoo, it's snowing! October 7th and the first snow is here. Bring on the winter!
